2013 Male Recipient – Clayten Ayres

Clayten Ayres will be graduating from Kennewick High school where he too, has had an outstanding academic career.

ATHLETICS

  • Clayten has been on the football, basketball, and baseball teams, earning 6 varsity letters
  • As a senior he was selected to be both the football and baseball captain. He was honored as Mid-Columbia Conference Lineman of the Year and also selected for the All-State Team.
  • In addition to school sports, Clayten has been a volunteer instructor and coach for youth baseball and football program.

LEADERSHIP , ACTIVITIES & ORGANIZATIONS

Off the field, Clayten is a busy young man. He’s been a class officer two years, served as treasurer for National Honor Society, is active in DECA as well as participating in Debate and Mock Trial.

Clayten has also helped to organize a Red Cross Blood Drive and Adopt a Family at Christmas.

ACADEMIC

In addition to all this, Clayten has demonstrated academic excellence by earning a GPA of 3.95

Clayten has established a reputation as a person who leads quietly and effectively and that he always puts the team first. One of his references wrote the following: “He speaks up when needed and his words are always meaningful. I’ve seen few who exert more kindness, energy, passion and work ethic as Clay.  He is simply an outstanding young man.”
