2013 Female Recipient – Emma Sanders

Emma Sanders will be graduating from Southridge High school where she has had an outstanding academic career.

ATHLETICS

  • Emma has been on the soccer, basketball, and track teams at Southridge, earning 10 varsity letters
  • She was basketball captain for 3 years, and soccer captain during her senior year
  • Emma has received many athletic honors including multiple selections to All –Area, All-Conference Teams. She has just recently been named Southridge’s Female Athlete of the Year.

LEADERSHIP , ACTIVITIES & ORGANIZATIONS

Off the field, Emma has been equally busy. She’s been a class officer every year, is a student mentor in the IGNITE program, a member of Honor Society and has been a Pink Week Campaign Leader to name a few.

She has also volunteered outside the classroom in groups such as Buddy Club, Wyldlife, and was a City of Kennewick FOCUS Steering Committee Member.

ACADEMIC

In addition to all this, Emma has demonstrated excellence in the classroom by taking AP and honors classes – all while earning a GPA of 3.89

But despite all of Emma’s awards and achievements, her true success is demonstrated in the way she treats others. She arrives early to school every day and stands at the school doors greeting her fellow students with smiles and high-5’s. “ Leadership is about inspiring others to believe in themselves so they are eager and driven to get involved and experience what if feels like to be part of something bigger.”
