2011 Female Recipient – Kelsey Julian

Kelsey Julian is graduating from Kennewick High where she has been on the varsity volleyball, basketball and track & field teams and earned 9 varsity letters.  She was volleyball captain during her junior & senior years and a track captain during her senior year.  As a senior, she helped lead the Kennewick volleyball team to a state playoff berth – the first in the history of the school.

Kelsey earned CBBN All Conference Honors all 4 years in high school.

Off the field, Kelsey has been the ASB Secretary and a member of National Honor Society for the past two years. She participated in Key Club, Buddy Club and Journalism and has contributed to her school and community in many fundraisers including the Spirit Chain, Relay for Life and Pink Week which are all Cancer research and awareness events. Other events include the Ronny Coleman Fundraiser (which was her favorite), multiple Veterans Day Assemblies, the Senior Citizen Social and Anti-Bullying Week.

In addition to her athletics and activities, Kelsey has demonstrated excellence in the classroom by taking many Honors and International Baccalaureate courses – all while earning a 3.9 GPA

One description of Kelsey included: She will be the person who takes the time to know others and draw them into a group. Many times she will put herself last and the welfare of someone else or the group first.
