2019 Female Recipient – Alexa Hazel

Alexa Hazel will graduate from Kamiakin High School where she participated in volleyball, soccer, track and field and basketball, earning 7 Varsity letters. She played basketball all four years, and as a sophomore was named Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year. She was selected 1st Team All-Conference three times and 2nd Team All State twice. She was also Basketball Team Captain for her junior and senior years

Alexa is fully dedicated in the classroom. She began taking Honors classes as a Freshman and never stopped – taking several every semester – including both an Honors Math and Honors Spanish every term since entering high school.  In her senior year, she served as an ASB Delegate and was the Link Crew President during both her junior and senior years. Alexa is on track to graduate with a 4.0 GPA.

Outside of school, Alexa has been described as a person with a heart for mentoring youth – oftentimes Middle School age. On multiple occasions, she has volunteered as a basketball coach – she’s been an after school tutor for middle schoolers and for two years has led a Small Group Bible Study for middle school aged students.  She has been a leader with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 4 years and participated in multiple mission trips, being described as “the first to volunteer and the last to leave.”
